I would like to share with you how much my son I have enjoyed hunting in our Trophy Knockdown Stand. This past hunting season we kill some real deer from this stand. I recently purchased 80 acres in Walthall county near Darbun MS where I hunted as a kid and was owned years ago by my Great Great Uncle and is now very near my Great Aunts home and her 500 acres that are leased by Pat Taylor (circle bar ranch). I am just returning from living in Scotland for the past 3 years and very much look forward to getting back into the hunting both deer and turkey. The land has been hunted for the past years and had 3 food plots on it which are now just high rye grass that looks dead. I have started by putting out mineral licks (mixing it in ground) and peanut butter jars. I made some molasses licks by cooking molasses to hard candy and pouring into pie pans and plan on hanging those next trip. I also plan on bush hogging my perimeter and starting food plots sometime in August/September (any advice on timing or seed type). I am trying to go at least every other month for a 3 day weekend. I have cousins that live just down the road to look after the place while I'm gone in exchange for hunting so hopefully that will keep people out. Just looking forward to bow season.

Sirs, I was looking at the recordbook section and noticd that your records were out of date.You can update this with the new B&C Records of North American Game. I personally have one in the "book" at 198 5/8" non-typ and know of six others that went in since '98. As a member of B&C I recieve an update each quarter in Fair Chase Magazine. I am sure there are some I have missed also. There is one at 220 that was recently scored that was killed it 1976 in Oktibbeha. This maybe availible directly from B&C at

Hunting MS for the first time in Smith county around white oak. My brother who lives there has seen several deer and a few bucks.
I hunt with a bow exclusively. Never hunted deer with a rifle. Any suggestions about hunting that area in early October 99.

he was 163lbs,with seven points,a 13"
spread with 6.5"around the base.
i shot him at about 10 yards.
the whole thing from walking into the
woods to dragging him out took all of

Enoyed viewing this site. Really liked the trophyroom and always enjoy hearing good deer hunting stories, but in the trophy room stories there was one that really caught my attention. The picture with the older gentleman's nice buck and story stated that he just saw the rack over some brush and guessed where the neck was to shoot. Is this really the image of Mississippi deer hunters that you want to publicize and encourage? I would hope not.

Love the site!. I would suggest something though. It seems to take a long time for a new post to show up. I would suggest a real time chat. Either put it on this site or use the IRC,using a program called MIRC. Its real time and could be password protected so you would need to get the password from you. Great site non the less.
