I'm way behind. I have planted 5 food plots on 4 tracts of land I hunt. I planted some sugar beets this year is the only thing I have done different this year.
Here I what I call my ridge plot. Has a 14' box blind on it.

This is what I call the stateline plot. It's the largest that I planted this year at about 1.5ac. It's "L" shaped and only on 11ac but several nice bucks cross it! There also are a few apple and pear trees on edge of plot.

This is my bottom plot. It's where my "skybox" stand is. To the left and 4 cleared fingers have wheat and rye sowed really thick and to the right sugar beets, radishes, and turnips. This stand and plot are on edge of a swamp and usually get hit hard once bottom floods. In Dec I can guarantee deer sightings every day.

4th isn't really a plot, I just weedeated down the weeds as low as possible and sowed wheat. It's growing pretty good actually, this tract is only 2ac and is in middle of town. There are a couple of pear trees as well as a apple tree and the deer are rather domesticated compared to rural deer.

I have made 4 hunts so far this season:

Hunt #1 was oct 1 pm I hunted my ridge stand with SSE wind 80° weather. A group of gobblers was the 1st action I had, there were 3 of them and one was noticeably larger. Even at 30yds I could easily see 1.5" spurs, hope he stays around til march! At about 6:00 a loan doe fed on acorns towards my stand but vanished at about 60yds. At app 6:50 I was making my final scans of the plot in the fading light I saw the doe standing 30yds to the left of my stand. I eased my crossbow up and out the window as quiet as I could. I turned the light on my scope and accidentally turned it on high and blinded myself. I realized what I had done and turned it to the lowest setting and took aim and squeezed the trigger. The woods went silent after a short period of time I climbed down and checked the bolt and it was covered in blood as well as the area all around. I went home and put my xbow up and got my dog. She picked up the trail and went straight to the doe! She was a nice fat last years doe!
