My new set of notes. This is the first new truck I have bought since 1993. I usually buy used trucks but decided to get a new one this time. Looks like a similar color to Chad's new Silverado. I got the bed liner in today. I really like it. I am not a fan of drop in or spray in liners so I hope this one works out. Got a set of nerf bars on the way to help the wife get in and out of it. I have been pleasantly surprised at the mileage so far. I got 21.7 from Hernando to Moon Lake and back. All up it is showing 19.5 for city and highway combined. That's better than the old Ranger by a good bit.

That was my fear. The eco was awesome to drive but was worried about the longevity.
No. I got the V8. I toyed with the idea of the EcoBoost and researched it for a good while but decided on the 5.0. I kept my last truck almost 19 years and no major issues. I don't know if the EcoBoost can do that.

you should love the 5.0. my son has that in his truck, gets good gas mileage, has plenty of power. i would rather that his 5.0 than my 5.4.

We drove his truck from CO back to MS this past spring. When i was driving it was getting about 21 mpg. With him driving, not so much ;)

We took my wife's 5.0 to Colorado last year elk hunting. It got between 7-10 mpg. Really bad through KS and Eastern Co. It does good when not pulling a loaded trailer. It also didnt have the hp I wanted going thru the mtns.

Congrats on the new truck! Ford makes a quality product for sure. The bed liner looks nice and tight, I prefer a liner over a spray on for sure.

I have no clue what rear end is in her truck. But it does have the fully loaded towing package. If I had to guess most of the 1/4 tons are the same. Anyway, it will make someone a good truck, ha. Her driving days are over unfortunately. Only put 20k miles on it in 3 years.
