Cheaper food plots

What are y’all doing for your food plots? Past few years my father in law has been doing ours, but he mentioned that he didn’t want to keep doing the same stuff because it costs so much. We’ve been using (I believe) Pennington Mississippi blend. We’ve got like 5-6 plots ranging from .5-1 acre and then one on a pipeline that can be as big as we want.
My question is- is anyone doing custom seed blends from a feed store? Or is there a cheaper/better option than pre mixed bags?

About all we ever plant is wheat but this past year it went up a goid bit.
We have about 10 different plots ranging from 1 ac up to around 5 acres. We do have a gas line running through our property but only plant a coulpe of food plots on it that range anywhere from a couple acres to 5 acres.
We are in the delta so there are farm all around us with different crops growing.

Last 5 years I’ve been buying regular brown bag wheat, cereal rye and oats in 50# bags from a co-op and mixing them myself. Also top sow a lil clover and some turnips.

I get the $15 a bag wildlife blend of wheat, rye, clover from Moore’s in Pontotoc. Has never let me down. Although, with diesel through the roof, and gas costing me over 400 just to come down and put in my plots, not to mention the increas in price for plot seed, I’m foregoing plots this year. Using my money to put in a dock on my lake…
