Where is this located at I haven’t heard anything about the Summers FoundationDoes anyone know who (or where) to contact in order to possibly get a lease from the Summers Foundation?
The Foundation gives $ to education (Sate & Ole Ms)facilities. There are tons of lands off Hwy 82. Infact the hwy is dedicated to the Summers. I know they have an office in Jackson but I’ve tried to contact them but with no success. Any help would be appreciated. ThxWhere is this located at I haven’t heard anything about the Summers Foundation
Yes sorry about the spelling. The foundation office is in Jackson & their site said they have a long term contract w/ warehouser for the timber but they do lease for hunting. I just need a contact number or address. ThxI know exactly who you are talking about but the name is Sumner not Summer.
My wife lived right across the road from them in Winona but as far as I know the only grant they offer is for students that are a incoming freshman go to a State collage.
His name was E. H. Sumner and the family put all their timber land (19,000 acres) into a trust fund to be used for education back in 1977. But as far as hunting land grants or leases I don’t know anything about that but will check with some friends and my brother in-law who still lives across the road from where the Sumner’s lived.
Does Weyerhaeuser handle the hunting lease as well?
ThxJerry the family has 19,000 acres that are set up in a trust for educational scholarships and the timber is harvested for that purpose but the timber company has no say so on hunting leases. It is all managed by the family and if I’m correct E.H. Sumners great grandson ( I want to say his names is John a lawyer in Jackson ) handles the trust. The one that lived across the road from Betts family is a lawyer in Winona, Jim I believe.
