My 2017-18 12 pt with his shed from 2 years ago

Here is the 12 point I got this year with his shed that I found a year ago. I figure it had been laying in the brush for a season when I found it. I think he is 6 years old or so. It's hard to get a good age estimate on tooth wear from 5 up, but I think he was 4 or better when he shed the antler I found. He's not really mounted, btw. This is just an old mount I had that I had popped the antlers out of, and I stuck his in just to see how they looked & take these pictures. I don't really mount anything anymore unless it's really big or unique.

Thanks Chad. You know, I might keep him mounted like that with the shed across the brow tines of his rack, because the chances of repeating this (finding his shed and it being nearly identical to the rack he has when I kill him) on a deer like that are pretty slim, now that I think about it.

that's one of the few sheds i've seen, that you can with almost 100% certainty saw it came from your buck ..
