I have just started a new flintlock that will be a 61 caliber smoothbore
The only items purchased will be the barrel $18.00 the lock $125.00 and assorted screws $5.00 so I am building a $148.00 gun. the rest if the hardware will be built by me and the cherry wood for the stock was cut 2 years ago out of my neighbors yard

And the full 3/8" castoff that only adds to the quickness, of this light weight shooter
Once finished it will hardly be noticed

Next will be the barrel tang inlet :p

Time for a progress report
Got a little more done and made a mistake in the process, I cut the fore end on the stock a little too narrow but I can live with it Its going to make a super light weight gun
I know a lot of people would have trashed this piece of wood but I really like it and all it's problems
Kinda like me far from perfect, I also feel like I am not the first person to put together a functional gun from less than perfect parts
